Just like the artists who’ve found their muse in this landscape for generations, you’ll find your own inspiration at this breathtaking lookout south-west of Robertstown. From the top of Scenic Hills Road, Inspiration Point lives up to its name, offering unrivalled views across patchwork farmland, rolling hills, and a horizon that seems to stretch forever.
Pack a picnic or pour a glass of Clare Valley wine, and watch as sunlight dances across the paddocks – it’s country serenity at its finest.
For cyclists, Inspiration Point is a highlight of the Eudunda–Robertstown loop, a 54-kilometre route with over 400 metres of climbing. The first 22 kilometres follow the Murray to Clare Lavender Cycling Trail out of Eudunda, leading to this spectacular lookout before a thrilling six-kilometre descent toward Robertstown. From there, quiet backroads guide you home via the Eudunda–Hampden Rail Trail, rounding off a memorable ride through classic South Australian countryside.
To drive there, head to Robertstown then up the steep Hill Road until you get to the top where you will see a shed and tables for unpacking your picnic baskets.
