Immanuel Lutheran Church 150th Anniversary

Immanuel Lutheran Church is turning 150!
Thanks to award-winning historian, Samuel Doering, we are excited to launch our anniversary book ‘There’s a Point to it.’
Since 1876, Immanuel Lutheran Church has been a cradle for leaders, thinkers and pioneers, and is the birthplace of Immanuel College. This publication will reveal the powerful, little-known history of one of South Australia’s most significant religious and educational sites.
Point Pass is a small place – but its story is anything but small!
On Saturday the 11th, the day will commence at 2pm in Immanuel Church, and will include the launch of the book and a special performance by the Tanunda Liedertafel.
Afternoon tea will be provided by donation, and guests are welcome to explore the Church and cemetery, and see a specially-curated display of historic items.
On Sunday the 12th, Immanuel will formally recognise 150 years of worship at Point Pass with a special Service of Thanksgiving.
At 9.30am, guests are welcome to enjoy a cuppa and cake before the service.
At 10.30am, the service will be held in Immanuel Church with Pastor Jacob Fabich leading the liturgy and Pastor André Meyer preaching.
Lunch will be available for donation after the service.
A secondary launch of the anniversary book ‘There’s a Point to It’ will be held on the day.
