Centenary & Memorial Gardens, Eudunda

The Centenary & Memorial Gardens are one of Eudunda’s most scenic and welcoming spots, perfect for a peaceful break, a family picnic, or a wander through local history. First created in 1946 by Council Overseer Bert Aesche, the gardens have been beautifully redeveloped with stone shelters, seating, community-made tiles and charming garden features.

A highlight is the bronze sculpture of author Colin Thiele with Storm Boy’s pelican, Mr Percival. Nearby interpretive signs share his story, and visitors can learn more at the Eudunda Family Heritage Gallery or follow the Colin Thiele Drive through the district.

Families will enjoy the fenced playground, free electric BBQ, shady seating, and the fun “kids’ scrub” play area, while the rose-covered War Memorial archway provides a quiet space for reflection.

The gardens host many community events throughout the year and also serve as a trailhead for the Lavender Federation Trail, making Eudunda a great base for walkers exploring the region.
