Michelle Pearson, award winning vocalist and cabaret performer calls time on this societal chokehold in her bold and empowering cabaret-theatre piece SKINNY.
Inspired by her own personal journey, Skinny is full of biting and hilarious commentary on the extraordinary lengths people go to in pursuit of being skinny.
A masterful blend of storytelling, comedy, with a soundtrack from power ballads to reimagined pop songs, including Pretty Hurts (Beyonce), I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Whitney Houston), Karma Police (Radiohead), Money (Pink Floyd), SKINNY has been widely acclaimed with 5 star reviews:
Skinny made its Off-Broadway debut in NY and performed across the UK in 2025 receiving widespread audience acclaim. Having also presented Skinny at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2024 and the Adelaide Fringe in 2025, where Michelle was awarded Best Cabaret (weekly) and the recipient of the Mental Health Commissioner’s Staging Change Award, Michelle hits the road across South Australia in May 2026 accompanied by a four-piece cabaret band.
